A: When your present hosting provider can no longer meet the needs of your website, or if you experience frequent network downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the help desk support team to reply back to you, it might be a clever idea to switch your web hosting provider, i.e. to move all the files for your websites as well as your databases from your current provider to your future provider. At DomainBop, we realize that this can often be difficult & time–consuming. Because of this, we will do all that for you for free!Our capable technical team reps will move your web site content from your current web hosting provider to us. Our technicians have extensive experience with web site migration and are able to take care of anything – from a conventional WordPress–driven blog or Joomla^™–based site, to a highly elaborate, custom–made web application.

A: There are lots of factors to take into account – the total number of web files, the physical size of the database, the complexity of the web site itself and the present workload of our web site migration professionals, etc. However, we do try to accomplish all web site migrations in a 48–hour time period. Smaller–sized web sites are migrated faster – usually within 24 hours.

A: We do not gather any information that is sensitive. We’ll require, though, the login information for your present hosting account as well as the name of the site that you want to transfer.

A: In order for us to start the transfer of your account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us will require that you to disclose more or less the same info you have given to your current hosting provider. We’ve also got a very strict Privacy Policy, which specifies how sensitive data is dealt with.

A: Your web site will work exactly like it did before with your former web hosting provider. Once we have finished the migration, your website will be configured to work on our system and we will alert you to preview it. If everything is working correctly, all you will have to do is modify the NS resource records for your domain name. Your web site will be migrated over to us with no downtime whatsoever.

A: While we migrate your website content, your hosting provider won’t be aware of the transfer at all. We will not touch base with them in any way.

A: Yup. We support all traditional Linux–powered hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–driven hosting platforms, because we don’t provide Windows hosting solutions ourselves.In addition, we don’t support proprietary web site creation and management interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
