Introduced in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, only third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained working.

You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific rules on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
